I decided to make UnlikeFeather because I was fed up with the way I was spending my time, days and days wasted and wasted over and over again. Soon after my 18th birthday I spent all £961 in my savings account with absolutely nothing to show for it. Just long nights staying up late smoking & drinking and hardly talking to each other, at this point I really just thought to myself, “fuck it i’ve got to change something”.

I often thought about business and online business especially throughout school, to try and avoid the horrific boredom that would be suffered otherwise. My mind was full of creative ideas and I was good at mapping them out to, but that’s as far as it went. In my imagination in the back of a dull classroom with no real intent to do anything more about it. I actually first started UnlikeFeather during a night of motivation but that only lasted a night, and the account was left untouched for 2 months. Then we broke up from school and another month went by of illicit behaviour and lucky escapes, it didn’t seem as though I had been able to change anything. I hadn’t changed anything, if anything my habitats had gotten worse. More frequent, larger amounts and a lot more money; that I didn’t have.

I was standing on the edge of cliff with a long spiral down, or faced with the chance to walk away from it and turn my thoughts into practice and actually accomplish something. My family moved to South Africa for a month during a lockdown in England that was producing more of the same spiral. Being cut off and left to myself was tough at first no doubt about it but I had so much unanswered time and so little people to spend it with; so one day I picked up my Ipad and opened up the shop. I had to make a new account as the old free trial was long gone. I slowing began to design the homepage with basic text and images, fairly quickly I actually began to see my shop come together. In a matter of days I had spent more time working productively than any other time in my life. The desire to create content or a service and actually be able to make a living from anywhere in the world was now my new obsession, and for a week I worked around the clock building and editing my website. We had some basic images and text with no correspondence or SEO optimisation without a real idea of what the target market was either, I added products I knew people wanted because I would have wanted them if I was a customer. Wireless phone chargers, Phone camera lenses, Face shields, Resistance bands and 60 other products were all added by the second week. Every product, image, text and blog had been optimised for SEO (to my best extent for now), I had created an Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat accounts to run marketing; even right now I’m writing this blog with hopes that it will inspire people to visit my website and see what it’s about and hopefully find a product that’s just right for them.

UnlikeFeather’s purpose so far has been to help give me a purpose, a reason to work for something and not waste my time now so I can work it off later. Working can be fun you just have to have the right equipment and mindset to get it done. So there is UnlikeFeather’s purpose to you, all the essentials to make this process a little bit easier, but a lot more fun. And we want you to tell us what to put on there, all suggested products will be added within 24hrs even if its just for you.
